Communicating with your clients or members is critical to any organization. However the multiple methods, cost and confusion that go with each are a headache in the making.
Snail Mail (USPS) - The tried and true method
Pros:
- Almost guaranteed to arrive
- The shelf life of mail far outweighs all other methods of communication
- Cost and confusion of postage methods and requirements
- No feedback on who or if it was read
E-mail:
Pros
- Cheap
- Fast
- Can also be used to link back to an unlimited amount of information
- You can view who opens, when and any forwards
- Most of the time the e-mails are actually illegal unless intentionally subscribed by the end user.
- Many firewall filters do not allow bulk e-mails
Communication is no different than your retirement, diversification is the key.
Small doses of traditional and electronic are the best overall method to keep in touch with your clients and or members.
